I started my career as a graphic designer and honed my skills working in the fast-paced community news industry. Creating graphic design campaigns primarily for the print industry, and then developing and sharpening my online skills as the industry changed. I love learning new skills and keeping on top of trends!
CUTTING EDGE, FRESH, CURRENT
I sat down one day and made a list of skills from my earliest days in graphic design. Skills I spent hours mastering: using a swivel knife, hand lettering, hand ruling, copyfitting, command-driven typesetting. Some of those skills are making a comeback in niche markets but most are obsolete. I learned a vital lesson — as a designer it is crucial to keep learning, studying, and growing.
TECHNICAL WRITING, WEBSITE DESIGN + DEVELOPMENT… and more!
Continually working to add to my set of skills allows me to be more versatile and creative. From learning technical, procedure, and FAQ writing at the BCIT, along with leading edge content writing allows me to both understand and build on my clients unique voice. I enjoy finding new ways to help my clients. I love finding just the right words to make my clients’ communications sing, or the challenge of integrating their branding with social media!
